All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all. – James Harriot

We love kids. We love it when kids ask questions about animals and veterinary medicine. After all, it was a veterinarian in Michigan that inspired the founder of Springboro Veterinary Hospital and Urgent Care to become a veterinarian.

Here are few fun animal links we recommend for kids (and adults too)!

How to become a veterinarian: A great video if a child is interested in becoming a veterinarian. This video is recommended for 4th and 5th graders. Click here to watch now.

The Cincinnati Zoo Live Home Animal Safari (all ages): Join them for a Home Safari Facebook Live each Tuesday and Thursday at 3 pm EDT, where they will highlight one of their amazing animals and include an activity you can do from home. Don’t have access to social media? No worries! All videos will be posted to this webpage and to their YouTube channel shortly after the Facebook Live ends. Check out more resources here!

San Diego Kids Zoo: Who doesn’t love the San Diego Zoo? Learn more here and find games here.

National Geographic for Kids is really cool (for all ages): They also have some awesome online games here.

Dkfindout: This is a really nice site where you can learn all about animals of all species. Find it here.

Animal Fact Guide: At Animal Fact Guide, you can discover interesting and endangered animals from across the world.

Ducskter: This is a very nice site that goes by grade level. Find it here.

ZooBorns: This website will delight you and the whole family. The site has photos and videos of the most recently born babies at zoos around the country. Check it out here.

Attention Teachers:  Teachers, counselors, parents, and advisors play significant roles in directing students – including future veterinarians – toward satisfying careers. AVMA materials are available to help expand students’ understanding of veterinary medicine and nurture their awareness of science and technology. These educational tools are directed by grade level, and most can be downloaded for use in the classroom. Learn more here.
