Ultrasound is a fast and painless way to visualize your pet internally. We often use this technology to check for issues and illnesses relating to the following organs of the abdominal and chest regions:

  • Liver
  • Intestines
  • Gallbladder
  • Urinary bladder
  • Spleen
  • Kidneys
  • Adrenal glands
  • Uterus
  • Prostate
  • Stomach

An ultrasound needs minimal preparation beforehand, but because pets must be still, sometimes mild restraints and sedatives are necessary. Depending on what part of the body must be viewed with the ultrasound, some shaving of the abdomen or chest may be required.

Just like an ultrasound performed on a human, a conductive gel will be applied to the surface of the skin, and a probe will be gradually guided along the region. Because the procedure is painless, it can frequently be relaxing for pets. The complete procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes, and often, pets fall asleep!

Everything your pet needs under one roof.
